Malaysia - NGO urges immediate commission body

KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 - Several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) called on the government to expedite the establishment of a royal commission to investigate the video footage of sex acts associated with the opposition leaders that it is not a political polemic that does not benefit the people.Malaysian Youth Council secretary-general, Mohd. Aziz Zaidi said the case should be resolved soon so that it does not cause a negative perception of young people on the political developments.

"It can lead to the younger generation is not interested in politics. Therefore, the commission investigating the role of the issues that reveal the truth, "he told Utusan Malaysia here today.

He added that the membership of the commission shall be agreed upon the parties involved to prevent further politicized.

Army Veterans Association of Malaysia (PVTM), Mohd. Ali Baharom said, the establishment of the commission shall be expedited so as to provide justice to the accused and the accused.

"The accused need not be afraid to accept the proposed establishment of the commission to prove he was not involved. Detailed investigations can be done through the establishment of an independent commission for people to know the truth, "he said.

Ex-Police Association of Malaysia (PBPM), Shafie Bakri said the issue of video recording the sexual act should be stopped immediately with the establishment of the commission for not further confuse people about it.

"Recording video is a view that is not good for the younger generation. The establishment of a royal commission as important as it involves people who have influence in the country.

"The Commission is authorized to investigate a special focus on various aspects including purity, the individuals involved as well as other allegations," he said.
